The mission of Sign Me “The Book” is three-fold. First, to increase dynamic equivalence in the hearing church for Deaf Members by training, equipping, and inspiring Christian Interpreters. Second, to increase access to hearing churches for the Deaf Community by establishing Deaf Ministries with Deaf leadership, and third, to aid in planting Deaf Churches by training Deaf individuals for ministry. It is our prayer that by diligently working on fulfilling our mission Deaf people thought the world will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
We Train
We teach skills necessary to become proficient in American Sign Language, Evangelism, and Ministry development for Deaf and hearing people. We provide:
All of our workshops, classes and events are Deaf-friendly, have interpreters and focus on Deaf leadership.
We Equip
We provide study materials, books, resources, hand care products, notebooks, pens tote bags, and other necessary items to help equip you in your journey.
We Inspire
We are a no-judgment zone. We exist to encourage, build up, support, and offer classes and workshops that give constructive feedback. We pray with you and provide faith and religious inspiration through VLOGS to inspire you as you work out the call of God in your life.
Sign Me "The Book" uses the Signing Naturally Series, one of the most popular course curricula in the United States and Canada. We also use carefully chosen curricula to give you the best training possible in our American Sign Language courses.
Our focus is on teaching students how to sign naturally and, at the same time, study and understand biblical concepts that will aid them in interpreting sermons and gospel music. Our courses are either hybrid, virtual or in-person. Each course gives feedback and practice and (excluding in-person courses), can be taken at your own individual pace.
Sign Me "The Book" is in the process of developing a curriculum on Evangelism and Ministry Development for Deaf People.
At Sign Me "The Book," we understand that Deaf Ministry is a service dear to the heart of God because he loves this precious community of believers. We also realize that it comes with difficulties and challenges unique to the ministry. We are here for you. We support you by providing monthly inspirational devotions created to refresh your heart and spirit. We encourage you to, "Come Gather at Our Table."
